The programmer proving grounds

This weekend is a chance to test your mettle in the Ludumdare48 hour game making competition, you think you got what it takes, kid?!  Rules here.

Unfortunately I don’t think I do this time around, but I’ll be hanging out on IRC to motivate and hassle people as usual.

Also, for those wanting to understand the universe or (more likely) explode trying…  Towlr.

For those who use ComfyUI via its API (as usual, a rather niche audience to be sure), take a look at the ComfyUI Workflow Converter Endpoint I released on GitHub today: https://github.com/SethRobinson/comfyui-workflow-to-api-converter-endpoint

While writing the readme, I considered adding instructions to add it with a git diff patch but got lazy and added a different way to install it: "paste this text into your claude cli or cursor AI setup". It works. Feels like one of those "velociraptors can open doors now" moments

Some claim that the issue with running small or two-person indie game studios is our inability to accept criticism. Hogwash! On a separate note, here's what you'll hear if you reach out to RTsoft support: (the Google Play store requires us to have a public voice line for some reason)

Asked ChatGPT for advice, believed it, bought the wrong thing. I was chabotaged.

There's a place near my house in Kyoto called Angel Scat Studio. The acronym is A.S.S. and I think about it daily.

Split Fiction was a blast. Twice as big as you'd think, packed with clever two-player mechanics. Shame about the writing, though. Most cutscenes were a grating, artless slog of whiny dialogue and clumsy exposition... the skip button wasn't just a relief, it was self-defense

Akiko: I need a countdown timer that overlays our mahjong scores on the tv, I guess there's probably a webpage I could use for that and...

Me: But will it have sound effects and ten-chan?!! <a short while later>:

BTW: I wrote 0 lines of code for this dumb C# app, just designed it. (Using Cursor with Claude 4 Max - it also handled all the git stuff and packaging) https://github.com/SethRobinson/RTEventTimer

Talk about niche: I've open-sourced the Japanese Riichi mahjong scoring and season tracking Google Sheets stuff I wrote for C2 Kyoto's Mahjong nights, in the very unlikely event there's a mahjong parlor (or group of friends) out there that needs it! https://github.com/SethRobinson/mahjongtracker
